JAPAN BLOG- Aloha to Noriko who purchased her ipu heke IpuFarm in February. Noriko attends a kumu class in Tokyo, Japan and has a halau in Nagano, Japan.

Noriko's ipu heke is finished in kukui nut oil and made with aloha!

ORGANIC HAWAIIAN IPU HEKE GOURDS

We grow only orgainic ipu at our farm. We also specialize in manufacture of ipu drums from hand selected organically grown ipu gourds. Our ipu heke and ipu heke 'ole are used as instruments in Hawaiian hula song and dance by halau hula (hula schools), as Hawaiian decorative gifts, and for artistic crafts.

IpuFarm is also piloting a Native Co-op and Native Artist Gallery, which will bring Native-grown ipu and other crafts to market. Our process for cultivation and production of the Hawaiian ipu has been handed down to us from our kupuna, and we continue to use these traditional techniques to bring you the best sounding and most beautiful ipu heke available.
